Work Experience Programme

The Economist work experience programme provides sixth-form or college students with a one week’s, unpaid work experience during July at our London headquarters.

The programme will provide you with an interesting overview of our businesses, in particular, our weekly newspaper, The Economist and The Economist Intelligence Unit. You will shadow several members of staff, gaining valuable insight into both our commercial and editorial practices.

To qualify you will have a keen interest in the publishing or media sector. You will be passionate about economics, politics or journalism. We will accept two students each week for four weeks.

The application window has closed for the 2017 programme. The next programme will be advertised on our career portal from December 1st 2017 until January 31st 2018. All inquiries should be submitted during that period.

If you would like to apply for our work experience, you must have the existing right to work in the UK.

We will pay reasonable travel expenses within London.

The Economist Group values diversity. We are committed to equal opportunities and creating an inclusive environment for all our employees. We welcome applicants regardless of ethnic origin, national origin, gender, race, colour, religious beliefs, disability, sexual orientation or age.

Thank you for your interest in The Economist Group.
